In this design, I set out to recreate the timeless spirit of the 1920s Bauhaus style. The design tradition that gave us clean lines, open plans, and the credo ‘form follows function’.
Design for Narrow Backyard
In this difficult space, the owners wanted to make the backyard feel less boxed in. I chose fast growing plants to achieve some screening of the corrugated metal fence. I also wanted to create the subtle feel of a tropical retreat.
Drought Tolerant Garden
In this garden renovation in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the sandy soil and sunny aspect guided the planting selection. Drought tolerant plants were carefully selected to maximise the flowering year round and to allow easy maintenance.
Pool Landscaping in Mediterranean Style
In this backyard, the owners had an existing swimming pool, but the space around it lacked the right treatment. A new planting palette was carefully selected to make sure the plants would tolerate the chlorine from the pool.
